"Bye," Lo said to the empty room, and smiled a little at the sound of Isaac talking to the young boy in the bathroom. He was kind of adorable with him, and she left with the certainty that he would end up alright, no matter what fate befell him.
"You've got to stop obsessing, Lo," Rives muttered once she was back in the car, but she only sighed in response.
"Let's just get you home. How do you think they'll react to..." she turned back and looked at the young girl asleep on his lap. "Her?"
Rives only shrugged and ran his fingers gently through Maisie's hair. "Dunno," he answered honestly. "But I promised her we'd stay together, and I don't plan on letting her down."
