Trimble had kept Baddock in the room. "So be it," Snape said silkily, without throwing a glance to the young man but knowing that Trimble would know what he meant. "The Unspeakables are taking control of his operation- you may not have noticed during your little holiday. Your activities are under watch until we decide that it is no longer necessary for us to intervene with the laxity of your operation, particularly with regard to how you are handling the Muggles. That is the official reason cited."
Straightening in the chair, he said softly, "Consider it a privilege that it's actually given to you." This was already more free than he had hoped to be with an outsider present. He would say nothing further, unless Trimble's response was truly intriguing.
