Ky had been visiting the markets in Mathwall, liking the fresh fruits and meats they had, since it saved him the time of trying to come across it on his own. Catching rabbit and the like by hand was quite a bit of a challenge. Two bags hung off one slender, bare wrist, a shorts-sleeve shirt worn despite the chill still in the air. As he was heading down the street, screams ripped through the air.
Hands flew up to cover his ears, bags falling to the ground and fruit splattering on the street. His eyes were wide as he looked around fearfully, searching for the source. And when he found it, he suddenly wished he hadn't. A body, stretched and trapped within a wall that hadn't been there minutes before. And he couldn't help but stare, unable to draw his eyes away.
Ky started trembling, taking a few stuttering steps backward as he watched humans move past him or just stare, suddenly very frightened and wondering if we were in some trap, if they knew. . .
