Katie's skepticism increased alarmingly while Oliver spoke and she stepped closer to him, arms folded over her chest. "I don't like the sound of this," she told him in a blunt, earnest tone, sharp eyes boring into his. "You're not telling me what you have in mind, which leads me to believe you think I might not agree with it," she prompted pointedly, arching a brow at him. "We'll get back to this later." Katie studied Oliver's eyes quietly for a heartbeat, making sure she had her point across. While she had no business knowing what he had been doing, and with whom, during the last eight years, if he somehow planned of functioning together again, he would have to be honest with her about his activities from now on. Especially the ones that concerned Sophie - and herself.
After a moment, Katie let out a sharp sigh and started pacing again. As it was, they had a more urgent matter to attend to. "I don't know," she responded quietly, matching Oliver's low voice. "But I'd prefer to be as honest and accurate as possible." She paused for a moment, frowning. "You know, a couple of days ago she asked me about Marcus, whether he was coming to visit." Katie's voice was unnaturally flat. "I told her I didn't know."
