"In general I don't think they need to be highly skilled. I always wanted most of these jobs to be open to anyone who is interested in the work. We need people to process the materials we get as they come in and sort them by format and condition. By time period would also be helpful, if the information is there, but condition is more important so we can do preservation work as quickly as possible. Someone who can help with the interviews by doing outreach to subjects and scheduling. The more technical work-- we need an editor to help with the recorded interviews. And we need more preservationists, but I can at least teach people how to do that. I taught myself."
