MACNAIR TRIAL DATE SET by Henrietta Tagpipe
The date for the Macnair trial has been set. Walden Macnair, former Death Eater and inmate as Azkaban Prison for war crimes committed in 1979, is set to appear before the Wizengamot on Friday, 20 February, beginning at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.
Macnair is on trial for the poisoning of several Muggleborns at the Godric's Hollow autumn festival and intent to murder. His daughter, Lavinia, 16, was expelled from Hogwarts for similar uses of poison at the school. The Daily Prophet will be covering the trials in full in the coming weeks.
MAGIC MIRRORS TURNED OVER TO MINISTRY by Ostrich Macnettle
Several mirrors have been confiscated by the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts department at the Ministry. The mirrors, found in various antique stores throughout greater London, have been causing Muggles who look into them to see themselves with various 'improvements' to their body and face, driving several to be arrested for prostitution, among other things.
