Could you be more trite, shortsighted and ridiculous?

No, really, I'll wait. Try.

Also I'd like to know how you got that little unpaid ad past Cosmo. Space is at a premium.

You say it like an insult but I'm taking it like a challenge.

I got that little unpaid ad past Cosmo the same way you get your bribes and underhanded deals past Cosmo. Is Malfoy getting another ode to his piles of wealth next week or are you giving his truly a sabbatical?

Lucius Malfoy deserved the write up he got. I don't imagine there are many men willing to open their bank vaults to underprivileged children they barely know.

I'll have you know Cosmo not only approved every word of the Malfoy write up, his WIFE came along as photographer.

I imagine there are lots of people willing to open their bank vaults to underprivileged children. That's the difference in the worlds we inhabit Ms. Skeeter. You only see the wealthy catering to the poor when there's a photo op, when we live in a world full of people catering to the poor. They just unfortunately do it at the poor's convenience, not at the camera man's convenience.

And how would you suggest we correct this alleged imbalance? Should I go and stand in the middle of Diagon Alley, yelling out for anyone who wants to have an article written about the sickle they put in the collection cauldron? Because that is frankly ridiculous, and would not make for good reading.

Meanwhile, Lucius Malfoy pledged to pay for half of every Hogwarts student's books this September. Think what you like about the man but even you must agree that is a rather noteworthy donation, especially when you consider that no one had to wave a bell in his face to get him to do it.

I have no doubt that what Malfoy's doing is noteworthy, and I have no doubt that's probably why he's doing it. Imagine if only more people out there had a fraction of his wealth, how better off the underprivileged would be in that kind of world. Instead we have to wait to hear about such grandeur charity when noteworthy men decide they want their publicity. Surely even you can find fault in that.

I find no fault in that little boy being given the best of everything to go off to school with, when he's been used to hand-me-downs and second best his whole life. I'm not going to stand here and nitpick about who helped him and how much that person has. I'm concentrating on the fact that he is being helped.

Nicely played. I probably set myself up for that one, but I'll give it to you. Well played.

I'm not playing. And this is a prime example of what I'm talking about. Children play. Adults do their jobs.

Adults also apparently think they're more important than they are Ms. Skeeter. If you think what we're playing at is a game, then you haven't been paying attention, and it's that underestimating of the youth that makes everything you write intolerable. You're no more important in the grand scheme of things than I am, and that's the real joke here.
