The regular lights have all been turned off, and the entire department is lit with these:

Set out in the main area, is a table full of food:

In the center of the area, spitting out candy galleons and fake galleons and the occasional real galleon to people who walk by:

The fake galleons can be traded in for things like leaving early on a day of the winner's choice. The candy galleons just taste good.

Set out on various desks (only people who won't be upset):

The figurines cheer whenever Ireland or quidditch is mentioned. The hats will magically adjust to fit any head.

And Seamus's desk lamp has been replaced by this (the only actual lamp that's on in the whole department):

Also, the ceiling above Seamus's (no longer at all red or yellow) desk is enchanted to "rain" the shamrocks that went missing earlier in the week whenever the word Ireland is mentioned.

Having heard murmurs of what was going on in the DMAC floor (the seventh floor had long been decked out in full quidditch style), MG stops by to see the Irish madness the day before the match. He's absolutely delighted that other departments are getting into world cup mood fully ;)

He'll stop by James' office (after trying some of the food) to drop some paperwork off (actually just an excuse to visit) while munching on a handful of green popcorn. "So I guess your department is cheering for Senegal?" Also compliments on how he's done up the whole floor. Nothing but grinning approval here.

James laughs. "Well, I have been wearing red and yellow all week and keep turning all of Seamus Finnigan's Ireland stuff into Senegal stuff..."

He takes the paperwork and glanced at it. "Try a cupcake. Mara made them."

Of course compliments on how talented Mara is at this are due!

"I'll pretend I didn't already finish one on my way to your office then!" Too late to take it back, he's taking another one of these wonderful cupcakes, James. And one or two for the secretary. These things are going fast.

Will had largely managed to smile and banter about the quidditch craziness that has hit the department with nearby coworkers that actually cared, but not care/ignore it when it came to his own work and when they were gone.

So when Will walks into work early Friday morning and sees the green madness that the department has become...well he can't ignore this. Especially not since when he tries to walk to the Oblivating department past the main area he gets galleons spewed at him and a real one nearly hits him in the head. Cue some inward sighing, but he'll stop and walk back, waiting for the spitting galleons again and this time catch more of them. Before he settles into work, Will will pick up one of the cupcakes on his way to his desk and set a few more lights up (since he finds the light of the bottles inadequate). Then he'll lean back in his chair, enjoying a cupcake as he looks over what paperwork he's got to do today while he ignores the way too loud department and the cheering figurines he can hear from a few desks over. Awful environment for productivity but whatever, he'll have sweets and be his focused self.

(In fact Will will do the galleon walkby thing a few times throughout the day and stack the fake and candy galleons on his desk to show he's getting into the festivities (the real one or two he gets, he'll just keep obviously). And get a few more bites to nibble on, since he isn't much for taking lunch and when he does it's not for eating. The cupcakes probably get more of his attention than anything else.)

Oh, Will. James shakes his head when he sees the extra lamps. But he's glad Will is enjoying the cupcakes. And he will strike up a conversation about how wonderful they are and how talented Mara is and he's totally a proud papa when talking about her

Will is a little surprised the Head of the Department is at his desk but he smiles and seems genuinely friendly as he agrees that yes, the cupcakes are wonderful, he's been lucky enough to try a few of her baking wonders before, through his sister, and they really never disappoint. He's more than happy to encourage the proud papa talk (because really he's found that people like that to be encouraged) and joke that he's afraid he'll have too many of the cupcakes and leave little for anyone else.

JAMES WILL DO ALL THE GUSHING BECAUSE MARA IS THE BEST! OMG HOW DOES ANYONE NOT KNOW THIS? MARA IS THE BEST. AND JAMES WILL LITERALLY FIGHT ANYONE WHO DISAGREES. HE IS THE PROUDEST PAPA EVER.

NOBODY IS DISAGREEING WITH THE BOSS, THEY ARE ALL HAPPILY EATING HIS PERFECT DAUGHTER'S CUPCAKES. I'M SURE THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO DON'T LIKE CUPCAKES WHO ARE EATING THEM. THESE AND THE CANDY GALLEONS ARE PRETTY MUCH WILL'S FOOD FOR THE WORKDAY! I MEAN LOOK, THESE CUPCAKES HAVE DRAWN OTHER DEPARTMENTS IN TO CHECK THEM OUT.

(Will will seriously encourage and put up with all the gushing. It's amazing what he can sit through listening.)

OBVIOUSLY NO ONE IS DISAGREEING. MARA IS THE BEST. ALSO SHE MAKES AMAZING CUPCAKES THAT NO ONE CAN RESIST.

(And hush. Will agrees with more than half of it. Mara is one of those people no one can resist.)

Lena still wore blue to work, but she has an Ireland rosette pinned to her chest. She... probably didn't get as much work done as she usually does. She has an unfortunate tendency to get a little bit distracted by celebrations like this. She loves the decorations and the excitement and the little-bit-different of it all!

James will forgiver her for wearing blue. (He doesn't care.)

And he hopes she enjoys herself. He will count any work done as a bonus because he doesn't expect much done today. (And he's okay with that.)

Ha, Lena always wears blue, because that's how people know she's Lena (as opposed to Zoe. It started off as legitimately how people told them apart, and has become a habit).

She does! She really enjoys her job.

Bina will not turn down cupcakes for dinner. Officially requisitioning of a platter of them may happen. Because she's an Auror, and they do what they want.

And give Bina a few to take back to the DMLE.

Seamus enters the office full of ideas of how to make the last day before the world cup COUNT and stops in his tracks once he gets to their floor. He's completely stunned for a long moment before he actually jumps in complete unbridled over-the-top joy. This is literally THE GREATEST WORKPLACE IMAGINABLE!

And yes, he tries and gets into it ALL. Ever bit of food is sampled, the lights are thoroughly checked out, galleon juggling happens, and by the time he actually gets to his desk his breakfast has essentially been irish themed snacks. His desk though is even better, no longer in Senegal colours was one thing but he pretty much hugs the special lamp before plopping into his chair, throwing on one of the hats, and exclaiming 'Woo Ireland!' and accidentally causing his missing shamrocks to rain down on him.

He literally (literally!) cannot be more thrilled, and takes a bunch of those formerly missing shamrocks to magically paste them onto James' door in the shape of 'BEST BOSS'. Yep, best boss no question here. He even charms them to light up each letter in sequence and sparkle so that people's eyes are drawn to it even in the sea of green this office has become.

Vati will be subjected to a way too excited Seamus at lunch too, and he'll take a couple of the cupcakes, clovers and a hat, and bring them over to his Mam's office at lunch so she can share in some of the festivities. He'll even encourage her to come see (and come see his desk and try saying Ireland!). Yep, super excited Seamus wants everyone to enjoy.

Greatest. Workday. Ever. (Also greatest job!)

James laughs when Seamus starts jumping and laughs even louder when he hugs his lamp. He naturally points out that Mara made the cupcakes and has a conversation with Seamus about how Mara is the best.

He is very pleased with the "Best Boss" sign and leaves it on his door long after the day is over. (It's gonna stay up until it falls off or someone takes it down. And no one better take it down.)

He'd be quite pleased to see Tara too, if she stops by. He would love the chance to brag about his daughter, obviously.
