From the Edtiorial Pages of the Sunday Prophet, 19 July 1998
Wizarding Britain is waiting with bated breath for more information about the impending trial of ex-convicts Sirius Black and Fabian Prewett for the murder of Alison Boot. The former Azkaban inmates will soon be returning to their old cells if Chief Auror Rufus Scrimgeour's statement to this paper is any sign.

The Prophet, as always, welcomes the Chief Auror's efforts to make the nation safer. Getting vigilantes off the street is certainly the first step to ensuring a safer and happier Britain. And whatever Black and Prewett were doing in the Boot home, it's clear they weren't invited. No good can come of dangerous criminals taking the law into their own hands.

Having said that, the rush to pin all of Lady Noir's crimes on Black and Prewett seems premature. It's not the first time we've heard from the Ministry that they're about to stop Lady Noir. We heard it after the Macnair trial--whose defendant is still at large--and now we're hearing it again about Black and Prewett.

While many of us have long doubted that the release of Azkaban prisoners was a wise measure on the part of former Minister Black--younger brother, we note, to the accused murderer Sirius Black--the haste of the Blacks is an error we'd like to see the Diggory Ministry avoid repeating. So while the Prophet urges that the Ministry deal properly with Prewett and Black, we also urge vigilance in the matter of Lady Noir until we have her properly arrested, tried, and sent to prison.
