Mr. Potter,

Thank you for the offer, the oblivators are an admirable department and certainly one I appreciate becoming a part of. I believe I can start on the 20th of July, though I will need to speak to my current employer about such a start date as it arrives before the traditional two week notice I would normally give.

If the 20th is vital, would it be possible to receive an official letter from your department to give to my employer saying as much?
