IC/OOC: Saturday night fireworks spectacle!

TIME TO PARTY!

Saturday night, about an hour after dark there's a magically enhanced drum roll to indicate to the castle at large that yes, fireworks time is about to begin. The fireworks will be set off above the lake and people are free to pick wherever on the grounds or in the castle they want to watch from. Seamus highly recommended picking a spot where you can see the lake.

A few small tester ones go up and then this one to show that now the party is starting!

There's quite the variety and he really lights up the sky. Though there's a flow to it all rather than just constant mad explosions. Each house gets a specific little bit of the show complete with a firework that magically takes the form of the house animal and in the appropriate colours. The fireworks don't stick to the lake either, many of them go flying off and circle the castle before soaring above it to explode. If anyone notices the gold lion firework stays a bit longer than the others when it's the Gryff part...well you're probably just imagining things.

The whole show is set to last about half an hour and Seamus really throws everything in there. Fancy shapes and effects, changing colours, fireworks that are on the water itself rather than above it, some that start on the water and shoot up all on their own. You name it, he's probably thrown it in.

To end there's a massive dragon-shaped firework that swoops low over the grounds (not enough to hit anyone but scare any of the smaller kids) and circles the Hogwarts castle, breathing more fireworks wherever it goes. Don't tickle a sleeping dragon kids! Once it's done a tour, it seems to dive at the lake and explodes as it hits the water, seeming to set off even more fireworks as it does and completely lighting up the sky.
(He would like to note to all the naysayers and profs that the whole thing went off without a hitch tyvm)

That's your finale folks. If anyone saw Seamus during this, he was at the shores of the lake looking like this:

IC/OOC: Did you stay up and see the spectacle? (how could you sleep really?) Who were you with? What did you do during the show? After the show? And come on, wasn't it the best ever?

	Seamus recruited his dorm mates to help set up, with promises that they were free during the show and yeah he's got some firewhiskey and chocolate with their name on it. He's really really excited for this but not going to reveal any secrets about what's in store for the show. (Reply to this) (Parent)

	Fabian was present from about the time the prep work started: not involving himself in anything but generally keeping an eye on things. Making sure nothing was substituted or added to Seamus' fireworks and so on. (Reply to this) (Parent)

	Dean is, of course at his side and at his disposal for the entire duration. He can work without a whole lot of direction since he knows pretty well what Seamus needs done, but he obviously is avaliable to take orders as necessary. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

With the sun setting well after 10pm and fireworks unlikely to start until just before midnight, Gwen had planned for a rather late evening. Still, she hadn't wanted to wait too long to start things off and had headed out to the lakeside an hour after dinner. It hadn't taken long to plan things, but executing them seemed a whole other story. With the actual bonfire finally prepped, Gwen and the people she'd conned into helping had arranged for some sparklers and a few bundles of sticks to be thrown in later as well as set up a couple of tables containing light refreshments, punch and sweets for the occasion.

	Kiki set herself up by the bonfire for most of the night with her contraband alcohol supply which she was happy to share as long as no-one got her busted for it. She seemed to be particularly taken with the sparklers. (Reply to this) (Parent)

	Dean will be bringing around the poster he made to give to McGonagall so everyone can sign it. It's a drawing of the castle work fireworks in the sky above it.
