PROPHET EXCLUSIVE: HEAD GIRL HEADS OUT OF MINISTERIAL CONTEST!
By Cosmo Mulciber
For more than two hundred and fifty years, the Daily Prophet has brought its readers the most important news about events in Wizarding Britain. Our interviews with Ministerial candidates are a longstanding British tradition and one that we're proud to continue in this election. In the upcoming weeks, our readers will have the opportunity to read the words of our candidates for Minister, from the youth leaders who will influence the future of our British Ministry to the senior officials whose leadership currently directs the nation's policy.

The Prophet will be publishing its interviews on the following schedule:

Hermione Granger - today
Regulus Black - 30 March
Gilderoy Lockhart - 1 April
Kristoph Merrick - 3 April
Thorfinn Rowle - 5 April
Postumus McMurdo - 7 April
Anastasia Nott - 9 April
Amos Diggory - 11 April

At press time, Josephine Savage-Abbott had not responded to our requests for an interview.

We look forward to the lively debate that is sure to ensue on the issues in this election and to bringing the best of the news and political discussion to Wizarding Britain.

Cosmo Mulciber, Editor-in-Chief

The Prophet's candidate interview with Hogwarts Head Girl Hermione Granger and her Head of House, Professor Emmeline Vance, was held in Hogsmeade last weekend.
Miss Granger, already notable at the tender age of eighteen for both her academic prowess and her school leadership, was a surprise entrant into the contest for Minister of Magic.

The news that Miss Granger was withdrawing her candidacy, as revealed in her exclusive interview with Editor Cosmo Mulciber, was a shock. Miss Granger did not reveal the reason for her decision, but she did consent to answer the questions the Prophet posed to the remaining candidates for high office, providing an early insight into the thoughts of a young witch of whom we have certainly not heard the last.

Here, with only minimal editing to omit speech hesitations, are Miss Granger's own words on the most important issues of this election, including Hogwarts, the economy, and the rise of Lady Noir.

What makes you most qualified to lead Britain at this moment? Why do you seek the position of Minister of Magic?

I could make a list for you, Mr. Mulciber, however, I must say that I will no longer be in the running for the Minister of Magic. I sought the position to better the Wizarding World and its people that live in it. The magical community need to have faith that their Minister will do what is best for them. I sought the position to better the magical community and to unify it. For too long there has been a wedge in the community that I wish to see closed. I am not only talking about the difference between the wealthy and the poor, but also those who were born from Muggles. Everyone should be treated fairly and not be treated differently because they were born to the wrong families.
