When they'd been arguing over the journals, Ron had been almost totally ignorant of who he was actually talking to. All he'd known was that some girl whose name he didn't immediately recognise had suddenly started criticising him. It was all forgiven now - Astoria actually admitting she'd been wrong and overreacting had impressed Ron, a lot. It wasn't something he was very good at doing himself, but he could still see how it had reduced the tension and stopped the row from getting out of hand. Even now, all he knew was that Astoria was a friend of Ginny's and that he vaguely recognised her surname.
When she spotted him, he smiled a greeting. "No," he assured her. He looked her over with interest - she was pretty, in exactly the way Ron liked women to be pretty. Thin with long, dark, wavy hair. Granted, he would have appreciated somewhat more generous curves, but she was still pretty enough that she definitely didn't need to be accepting random offers of drinks.
"Hi," he added, somewhat belatedly. Unless she was stupid, she had to have noticed he was looking. "Uhm." He didn't know whether to go for a handshake, a hug, a kiss on the cheek or none of the above. Suddenly awkward, he stuck his hand out and then thought better of it. Instead, he pushed the door open and held it so she could precede him into the pub. "Thanks for coming."
He let Astoria lead the way towards the bar, but turned to her when they reached it. "What can I get you? Do you want to see the cocktail menu? There's a non-alcoholic section."
