The wavering smile was a relief - but the question that followed was quite the opposite. "I -" Ron honestly didn't know how to answer the question. It wasn't that he thought this was a date. He'd barely known who Astoria was when he'd asked her, and hadn't even known what she looked like. On the other hand, he was a man and she was a woman so of course there'd been something more than mere apology behind the question. "I need to go get those drinks," Ron finished, and more or less fled.
There was a crowd at the bar now, and Ron had to wait to be served. He didn't know why he'd asked Astoria out for drinks. It had just popped into his head. And it had been the first time in a long time. The first time since Lavender, if Ron was honest. None of which was anything he wanted to say to Astoria, or anyone. So when he finally returned to the table with the drinks, he wasted no time. "Let's just... forget all that. Go back to talking about dragons." He smiled, hoping that might get a laugh out of her. "Did you do Care of Magical Creatures?"
