"Brave," Ron agreed, his mouth twitching as he tried to keep his expressive face deadpan, "or very stubborn." Some might use other - unkinder - words, like 'stupid' or 'glutton for punishment'. Ron honestly didn't mind that the Cannons didn't win. Of course, he'd be over the bloody moon if they ever got within spitting distance of the top of the league, but it didn't really matter if that never happened in his lifetime. The winning wasn't important, Ron just liked to watch them play. "Do you support anyone in particular?"
Ron had 'taken issue' with plenty of people at school for things unrelated to House loyalties. Wealth, academic skill, talent in any field whatsoever, all had been enough to set him off. They hadn't been particularly happy years, and sometimes Ron wished he could go back and relive them, change them somehow. "I can't really talk," he said, the tips of his ears glowing red. "I was in detention more than anyone else in my dorm, even Seamus."
Ron downed the last of his beer when he noticed her swirling her drink. "How long have you been doing it?" He knew plenty of people moved jobs a lot before finding something they liked. He didn't think that was the life for him - having to prove himself capable to employers over and over and over again didn't sound like his idea of success.
"It's... family," Ron said, waving a hand in a meaningless gesture. "I mean, not that a small family is bad! I wouldn't want seven kids of my own, but..." Words were failing to come to him and Ron gave her a smile as he indicated her near-empty glass. "Can I get you another?"
