Evan didn't think that Jim was unwilling to be researched, which meant that all of Evan's research was a fair game. He did like research and was pleased that if not supportive, Jim at least wasn't actively attempting to eat any of Evan's books. That had to be a good sign. "I shall keep you updated," he informed Astoria. Jim, as if having sensed the conversation topic suddenly appeared again, jumping up on one of the unused chairs and staring at Evan. Jim never really 'looked' at anyone, it was always staring at things. Perhaps it was to do with it's glowing red eyes, Evan wasn't sure.
"I could," Evan agreed with a laugh as he absently reached out to pet the cat. Jim let him. Evan's smile grew bigger even if he tried to hide it from Jim. It wasn't a great plant to let him suspect that Evan might like petting him. Jim seemed determined to do things people found uncomfortable, which is probably why he kept following Daisy around. And staring at Evan sleep.
He nodded when Astoria said that Daphne's might play the World Cup. Evan didn't really know much about it but even he hadn't managed to ignore the way Harry had been going on about being at the World Cup. Evan just hoped he wouldn't be made to go to any games.
Jim meowed and Evan looked down at him. "Oh, yes, right," he nodded before downing his now tepid tea. "Gotta love you and leave you, 'toria!" Evan announced getting up. "I need to pick up some more raw meats for Jim before I go to work tonight," he explained. "Delightful to see you, thanks for the tea," Evan added because it was delightful and he had enjoyed the tea.
