"I'm pretty sure Jim has a job," Evan commented before hearing a meow from somewhere near the window that sounded like agreement. "I have no idea what it is, because Jim doesn't actually tell me, but sometimes he comes home with money," Evan felt that perhaps it was best not to question it. He had done multiple tests and spells to check and make sure that Jim wasn't an actual person, because that would not have been okay. Evan was many things but he certainly wasn't stupid. Jim, as it had turned out, was just a beast. Evan wasn't particularly sure what sort of beast, but something with glowing eyes and fog coming out of it probably wasn't an ordinary cat. Evan guessed. He didn't know that much about cats but he was sure if there were some with glowing eyes and fog, he would have heard of that before.
Evan couldn't help but give dramatic sigh at Astoria's logic regarding the missing Harry. The whole thing was annoying but not in the least because of Astoria's very well outline reasons. "You're of course right, but lets face it, 'toria, he's a Gryffindor," Evan said almost as if that was an insult. And perhaps in this particular case it was. Evan didn't like house prejudices, mostly because he had always seen how upset Daisy got about them, but if there was a house Evan had to pick that he didn't think highly off, it would be Gryffindor. No common sense and unnecessary heroics. At least the rest of the houses were less likely to get themselves killed, even if Evan had set himself on fire at least once before.
"To be perfectly honest, despite what it might look like, I don't actually care where he is," Evan added with a shrug. "It's Harry, he'll just reappear probably having gained a girlfriend and an 'exciting experience'," Evan said making rather elaborate air quotes as he said it. Harry, like Jim, seemed to always fall on his feet. "Besides," Evan added with a slight smile. "If he is dead, I can totally claim all his stuff." He would, too. Evan might be a bit sad if Harry died, but mostly he'd just take his shit.
