Since she had told him what was what, Percy went to put his briefcase down in his study and to hang up his work robes. Loosening his tie slightly as he made his way down the stairs, Percy made a note to clean up the toys that littered the path. There was no reason to leave them out for someone to trip, fall, and break their neck.
"You have put a lot of thought and effort into this," Percy remarked as he settled down next to his wife. Part of him wanted to suggest eating in the dining room. That's what it was there for. What if they stained the carpet? Wisely, however, he kept his worries to himself. If they stained the carpet he would simply ask his mother for the best remedy to remove said stain.
Picking up the glass of wine, he held it up in a toast. "To a lovely evening with my even lovelier wife."
