Ever since Lydia had returned from New Zealand, her mind had been running a million miles per hour. Thankfully work wasn't as overwhelming as she expected when she returned to her own office, but it still was keeping her busy. However, when she would return to her flat to relax with Westley, her mind would wander to a certain man she had just spent a week with and it was there that was causing most of her issues. Lydia was never a romantic person growing up, everything that was happening with George was exciting, but very new. She knew this wasn't a standard situation either, given what had happened with George and Alicia, so there probably wasn't many people out there who knew what to do in this situation.
Over the past week, Lydia also came to realize that she didn't really have any really close girlfriends. Sure, she had a lot of close guy friends, but they weren't the type of people she could go and talk to about romance and boys and things like that, it was different. There was something special about when she was back in school and all her dorm mates staying up late and talking boys, and she didn't have that anymore. She was starting to realize that she needed to talk to somebody about it, or else she was going to explode and that was just going to end badly.
It didn't take her long to accept that fact that there was really one person she could talk to about this, and oddly enough it was Higgs. He was involved enough in the whole situation and even though they had only known each other for a short time, Lydia trusted him and felt comfortable enough talking to him. She knew he would give her his honest opinion and be open-minded. She just prayed it wouldn't be to awkward for him. After owling him, asking for a dog walking meetup, she got herself and Westley ready before heading to the park. They had arrived a bit early so she ran around and chased the dog a bit, very thankful for Higgs convincing her to adopt him. Suddenly Westley stopped and gave a little bark and ran off. Lydia looked up and saw her friend approaching. She chased her dog over to them and laughed, "Hey, thanks for coming. And this must be Fi."
