WHO: Charlotte & Oliver Wood
WHAT: Not-twin time
WHEN: Monday 8 February 2002, evening
WHERE: Oliver's place
RATING: Low - medium (depends on how sweary Oliver gets for losing at Scrabble!)
STATUS: Closed//Ongoing
"No. Oliver, no. That's not a word! You can't play that." Charlotte Wood wasn't as competitive as the rest of her family, but that didn't mean she didn't have a desire to win. She had been serious when she told her brother that driving was a bad idea. She had practiced. She was working on getting her license because she had her eye on an orange Volkswagen. Scrabble should have been safe. It shouldn't have led to frustration, even with her uber competitive older brother. But she was seriously ready to pelt him with letter tiles.
Or egg rolls. "Do you know English? You can't make that a plural just so you can get the triple word score. It's already plural." Sighing in exasperation, Lottie stood and flounced into the kitchen, calling over her shoulder, "I'm not gonna play with you if you're gonna cheat." She helped herself to one of Oliver's beers and, after a moment's consideration, grabbed one for him.
Upon returning to the living room, she regarded the board with a scowl. "That word doesn't count," she said snidely, handing him the bottle. Sitting on the couch, away from her tiles, she crossed her arms and legs and looked at her brother. "If you're not going to play right, we're not playing at all. And that means you get to talk to me about Oliver."
