WHO: Parvati Patil and Terry Boot
WHEN: May 2000
WHERE: The front garden of Parvati's cottage in Limbic Alley
WHAT: A random encounter!
CHALLENGE: Backstory (Earth), Bingo ("I had never...", the front garden)
By the time Parvati and Lavender had moved into their cottage in Limbic Alley - the smallest house on the street, but also the cutest house! - it had been too late in the year to do any gardening, though Parvati had made sure to keep up with outdoor decorations so that they could brighten up the neighbourhood. Spring had finally rolled around now, and Parvati had therefore started gardening in her spare time - mostly flowers, which were easy to care for, but she was experimenting with a few vegetables and potions ingredients as well.
Being almost entirely residential, Limbic Alley was relatively quiet, though close enough to Diagon Alley that Parvati could hear the low, pleasant hum of humanity. Sometimes neighbours would walk past, and sometimes other people would - people who were lost, or who were just out for a stroll on a very nice day. Parvati greeted anyone who walked by, though she was mostly focused on digging around in the dirt to unearth the carrots she believed would be ready to eat.
She had used a so-called miracle potion on the earth without expecting results, but it took quite a lot of digging to retrieve the carrots, and then she held them up to examine them. One was nearly as long as her forearm, and it was the smallest of the batch. "I have never seen one as big as that before," she said aloud, pushing a strand of hair back from her face with her wrist.
