WHO: Regulus Black and Hermione Granger
WHEN: ~A few months ago~ (shortly after Hermione was accepted as an Unspeakable)
WHERE: The break room at the Department of Mysteries
WHAT: Meetings!
CHALLENGE: Backstory (Fragile), Bingo (Tea time, ~free space~, an overstuffed couch)
The break room at the Department of Mysteries was occasionally a very strange place to be. Since maintenance and administrative staff were extremely limited in their capacity to enter the department, the furnishings largely depended on whatever the abstract-minded Unspeakables themselves chose to bring in. Almost everything in the room had been experimented on multiple times in some respect. The coffee machine was a triumph of magical science, in that it was a Muggle invention that worked despite the background magic...sometimes. Mostly.
And then there was the couch. It was overstuffed and somehow, Regulus forgot every single time, and was never in any mood to try to fix the issue.
Tea time had arrived and Regulus had decided to come to the break room, where he had put on a kettle. Tucked into the crook of his elbow was a delicate-looking glass globe the size of a grapefruit. There were dark grey clouds swirling inside it, and occasionally little lightnings played across the inside. Everything was fine until he settled down on the couch to wait, misjudged exactly how large and bouncy the damn thing was going to be, and nearly dropped the globe as a result. Frantically grabbing for it, he fell off the couch and winced when he hit the floor on his knees, glaring around to see if anybody had noticed.
Well, at least it was unharmed, and he more carefully climbed back onto the couch and peered at the storm raging inside the object.
