Pie is good
Who: Ron Weasley & Daisy Potter
When: 4th - 5th January, late night / early morning.
Where: Daisy, Harry & Evan's home.
What: Ron is full of self-pity, but he would rather be full of pie. Will Daisy oblige?
Ron wasn't sure he really believed Daisy's threat to come and find him. Did she even know where he worked? Oh, she knew what he did for a living and could probably find out where Ron's particular team of magical arborists were based - but Ron wasn't sure she could find out at nearly-midnight. Nor was it the lure of alcohol prompting him to get redressed in his work clothes after replying to Oliver's letter. Ron didn't feel much like drinking - he was miserable enough already, and booze wasn't going to help. Ron drank when he was happy and when he was angry, not when he felt like this.
So, that left the pie. There had been a distinct and distressing lack of square meal's in Ron's life this week, and he was hungry. Sandwiches and butterbeer and biscuits just weren't quite substantial enough to feel like real food. Besides, there was a couch at the Potter's that Daisy might let him use, and it was nice that someone cared where he was sleeping, even if it wasn't any of the people Ron would have expected.
Dressed, he surveyed the room to make sure he hadn't left any signs he'd been sleeping there. The mattress had been transfigured back into a sheet, the blanket was shrunk and stuffed into Ron's pocket, his spare clothes (also shrunk) were in his chest. Everything was how it had been when he arrived, and if Oliver had anything further to say his owl would find Ron at Daisy's.
He apparated with a soft pop, landing himself outside the door to the Potter's home. He hadn't wanted to apparate inside in case anyone were asleep, though now that consideration was undermined by the fact that he had to knock.
