It took Sasha's sloshed brain no time at all to process exactly what he said. He called her beautiful quickly, without any prompting at all, as though it was as natural a response to something she said quite often to him. In fact, it was the first time she'd uttered the words to anyone since returning home.
She picked her head up off his shoulder, both his words and his arms making her feel a bit warmer. "You think I'm beautiful?" she asked, almost teasingly. It was a quick shift in her mood, which had dipped only a moment before; now, she was fighting off a smile.
