Sasha did not care about looks. She didn't even notice them. She did notice that he seemed very hesitant to leave with her, so she grabbed his hand and pulled him forward, striding ahead with much more confidence than she actually felt. It was surprisingly easier to walk this way, when she walked as though she couldn't be stopped.
"I don't want to go home, Joe's there and he's gonna want to talk and I don't wanna talk about how I can't get divorced for five years because I can't prove anything bad happened to me, I don't wanna be asked if I've done this or that or thought of whatever." Sasha loved her adopted father, she really did. And tomorrow she would probably be willing to listen to the suggestions he had. But for this one night, she wasn't ready for solutions.
