The agreement hurt far worse than Dora could have imagined. She was surprised by the strength of it. She hadn't realized until that moment that she'd been hoping he would call her back again, that he wouldn't want her to leave like this. Obviously he'd already made up his mind in that respect.
Without saying anything, not sure if she could say anything, Dora watched Remus for another moment before wordlessly turning and walking back out the front door. She definitely was not going to cry on the way home, not over a boy she could easily see falling in love with one day.
