Remus chuckled lightly and shook his head at her suggestion that she get him two gifts. He most definitely wouldn’t hear of that. “Certainly not. Don’t be silly,” he told her. He was sure he would love whatever she got him, mostly because it came from her. Remus was always surprised when he received gifts, even if it was from his close friends. He didn’t think he was worth remembering, no matter how often they told him otherwise.
“It reminded me of you…” he told her, but then he stopped there. Maybe he should vocalize his reasons for buying her the gift. After all, he would certainly be sending the wrong message that way. Instead, he glanced at what she’d brought with her. Food was a nice distraction from sentimental gift giving.
