She didn’t much feel like a ray of sunshine at the moment, but as she stood awkwardly for a moment and bit the inside of her lip, she decided she was just going to have to shake it off and get over it. Dora sat down on the other end of the couch, not trying to push her boundaries anymore. She probably would if she saw another opening, but for the moment, she’d not bother him with it.
“So...did you have a good Christmas?” Dora had almost gotten him a gift--more than just dinner and her presence--but the last time she’d gotten him a gift, he hadn’t gotten her one, and that had just been an awkward mess and she didn’t want him to feel bad again. Just kidding she’d totally gotten him a book, she just didn’t know if now was the right time or if she should just keep it until his birthday when gift reciprocating wouldn’t be a problem.
