She looked at him, trying to convince herself that Max wouldn't marry her if he didn't love her. If he didn't want to be with her, he could walk away now before the wedding ever took place and before they purchased a home together or had children. She knew that he loved her, but there were still too many questions about whether he loved her as much as she loved him or, at least, in the same way.
"I know he loves me," she said. "I just don't know if he's in love with me." She didn't want to tell their private business to anyone, but keeping it all inside wasn't exactly easy either. "Sometimes I just don't think that I'm what he wants," she admitted, not sure if that gave Higgs enough information without actually saying more. "But how do you ask someone you love something like that?" she questioned, blinking at the tears that burned behind her eyes.
