Evan gave a soft sigh when Andrew said that he could tell him mum that he had 'someone' and not specify who that someone was. Andrew's mum, as far as Evan was aware, knew that Andrew was gay, but Evan felt he could read the meaning behind what Andrew said, or at least certainly the way he said it. Gay or not, Andrew's mum would probably prefer to imagine this someone as being female. Which was mostly delusional, but then this woman also believes in a Christian God, so she had a lifetime of training in convincing herself of non-existent stuff. Shuffling closer to Andrew, Evan reached out to run a hand over Andrew's leg softly, moving in so their shoulders could bump together.
When Andrew added how Ginny had suggested that his mum would be unhappy about Elise, Evan frowned. "I doubt your mum would be angry at you that a man she hasn't seen in almost twenty years happened to have another child," Evan commented, genuinely not sure why she would. Andrew making friends with Elise was perhaps a bit more painful as a concept, but it wasn't like he was trying to make friends with his dad. Andrew's suggestion that maybe his mum would just throw him out made Evan frown deeply. "That's not going to happen," he told Andrew seriously. Whilst Andrew's mum certainly had ideas that Andrew didn't agree with, she hadn't thrown him out for being gay, which directly went against this woman's religion. The fact that Andrew happened to have an accidentally discovered sibling was no where near on the same par, as far as Evan could tell.
Leaning down a bit, Evan brushed a soft kiss against Andrew's shoulder. "Tell her the truth," he told Andrew gently. "About us," he clarified.
