Higgs smiled slightly when Siobhan said that she was aware that Max could be frustrating. There was something very amusing at the idea of how she dealt with it. Higgs had little doubt that Siobhan could be very pointed in telling Max off, and the fact that Max no doubt was often forced into apologies he rather not make. In a lot of ways, Higgs could easily see how they functioned as a couple, despite knowing neither for very long. His smile faltered when Siobhan noted how her issues came to forefront when she was overwhelmed and stressed. It made sense, of course, but Higgs still wished he hadn't been, if not the cause then certainly an element, in causing that during the dinner.
As Siobhan explained that the problem was often with the type of food, Higgs nodded. He might not have know a great deal about eating disorders, but the way Siobhan explained it made a lot of sense. "Okay," he nodded. He was glad she said she didn't want to stop having dinners, because Higgs truly did enjoy them, in spite of Max's evident distaste for, well, everything but Siobhan. "Light meals, I can do," he informed Siobhan as they neared the cafe. Holding the door for her, Higgs followed her in. "How about tapas?" He said thoughtfully. "For the next dinner," he added since having the same thing regularly would quickly become boring, but it was a pretty good start, he thought.
"Many small dishes, lots of choice," he commented as they queued. That way, Siobhan would be able to pick and choose both what and how much to eat. It wasn't like she didn't eat, so Higgs didn't feel like he was helping her disorder, rather helping her overcome it. Or manage it, since as she pointed out, it was not a thing she ever expected to fully overcome. That awareness, Higgs felt, was crucial to actually getting better. He certainly had learned it the hard way. When Siobhan said that no one wanted to be seen as damaged goods, Higgs stilled, giving a shake of his head, before reaching out, gently turning Siobhan so she'd look at him. "You are very far from damaged goods, sweetheart," he told her seriously. "Being a bit chipped does not make you broken."
