She was apologizing for Max because she doubted that he would do it himself. She was distracted away from the conversation of apologies, though, when Higgs posed the question that she knew would come eventually, especially if they kept having dinners together. She let out a breath, tucking her hair behind her ear.
"I have problems where food is concerned," she said. "I probably always will, despite the fact that I'm recovering. I've had an eating disorder for quite some time now. I should have mentioned it before we had another dinner but I usually try to keep it to myself." There was no use in lying about it or making up something to lead Higgs off of the truth. "I'm usually pretty good about things but I was stressing that day and there was all the tension between you and Max," she sighed.
