Frankly, at this moment in time, Iona Rivers was starting to wonder how on earth ordinary people managed to function if they had silly ideas like this - she had taken the advice of one of her colleagues, and the direct result was now taking place: an argument between two of her superiors about whether or not to comply with a Hogwarts request to take visitors from a group of 7th years amongst the holidays, to gain experience before applying for the Auror training programme. She, her line manager and the assistant to the department head were now making their way across the foyer to go and get tea on their break from office based duties, and attracting attention as they were, Iona was starting to slink further and further behind the pair.
"Rivers!" barked the assistant, summoning her closer with the crook of a finger. "Come here" he said snootily, a tone that went completely over her head, though she did recognise his poor attempt at powerful body language. It was, however, somewhat hard to command any sense of gravitas with gravy stains on your shirt. Iona nearly missed his next question while wondering why on earth he'd spilled gravy on himself this early in the morning.
"Um, yes?" she replied, wondering why on earth she couldn't just be permitted to go back to the office.
"People like me are far too busy to have to deal with the children coming around, IF they do" he glared, giving a pointed look back at Iona's line manager. "I think one of the Aurors on the ground should do it, so to speak" he went on, giving Iona the look this time.
She looked right back at him, unable to read between the lines, partially to her manager's well-hidden amusement.
