Ashleigh nodded. "One at a time is good," she agreed. She didn't know which one would be first, but she would think about them all and try to work out which was the most feasible. "Thank you," she added, because she did appreciate that Aisling would always offer, that Aisling had faith in her ability to make an investment worthwhile. Ashleigh just wasn't anywhere near as certain in her belief that she could succeed as Aisling was. She might, she thought there was a high enough chance that it was worth trying, but there was still a chance that she might fail, that she wouldn't get enough business, or wouldn't be good enough. She knew she struggled to get on with people, and that might make it harder to get hired.
"You're too kind," Ashleigh said, smiling. She really wouldn't want to be submerged in mud - and no matter what the hotel said about it, she didn't really believe it would do her any good. She took another bite of her prog, not wanting to leave it unfinished. "I don't know what I'm going to do for your birthday that will equal this," she teased. She simply couldn't afford to whisk Aisling away on a five star holiday. "I could take Axel away for a week, would that be a good present? Make sure he can't bother you?" She was only teasing. Aisling had always been able to live with and get on with Axel much less argumentatively than Ashleigh had.
