As happy as she'd been to chat about dinner, the mood shifted considerably when Higgs explained that he had support group on Thursday. "Oh," she said, biting her lower lip because she felt bad for asking. "I'm sorry," she said. "I didn't mean to be nosy." She hadn't even considered that his Thursday plans could have been something as personal as a support group. It wasn't difficult to figure out what he probably went to the group for, especially given the medication that she'd seen listed on his chart.
"Support groups can be fantastic," she said after a moment. She'd been to her fair share of them. In truth, she thought maybe joining another would be a good thing. As much as she thought she was doing better, there was always the chance of backsliding when you got a little too cocky about your position.
