"No!" Higgs exclaimed almost mockingly when Siobhan said that Max was stubborn at times. "Really? I would never have suspected such a thing," he said teasingly, before offering a wide grin to Siobhan so she'd know he was definitely only joking and hadn't objected to Max's ridiculous ways all that much. In fact, truthfully, Higgs had found it all rather amusing. Max had always been wired too tightly and it was greatly pleasing to poke at that to see whether he'd snap. Higgs was sure that this would most likely come to bite him in the arse, but it still felt kind of worth it.
When Siobhan offered to host the dinner instead, Higgs smiled. "Oh, I don't mind having it at mine until you and Max find a house," he assured her. "But if you feel obliged to be the host, I shan't stop you," he added truthfully. "Why don't we have it at mine but you can bring a dessert?" Higgs offered in somewhat of a compromise. He didn't want to burden Siobhan with the task of cooking, or at least tidying, not when she was busy searching for a house and preparing for a wedding.
