Higgs gave a soft smile when Siobhan commented how his mum must've been very proud of him. "She is," Higgs confirmed with a small nod. It was true, his mother had a lot to be proud of between him and Gemma. Especially Gemma, as far as Higgs was concerned. Then, when Siobhan said that she would've made a terrible soldier, Higgs shrugged. "I didn't think I'd make a good one, really," he told her truthfully. "But it can change that perspective quite quickly," which was what had happened to Higgs. Not to say that everyone could make a good soldier, hardly, but Higgs did feel that plenty of people just didn't necessarily give themselves credit for what they could do, or more so, imagined being in the army to be something it truly wasn't.
The way Siobhan made a noise of disgust at paperwork made Higgs laugh. "I'm glad to find a kindred soul," he told her teasingly. "Must be hard being engaged to someone who I bet loves paperwork," because Max was a lawyer, as far as Higgs was concerned, they all loved paperwork. Besides, didn't Max actually specialise in paperwork? Higgs couldn't imagine a worse faith. "And no," Higgs shook his head. "I plan to try very hard not to need to return to you for more un-sticking purposes," Higgs promised.
