WHO: Terry and Lisa
WHAT: Dinner
WHEN: Backdated to Jan. 21st, around 5pm
WHERE: Their flat
The apartment always smelled of tea, books, and warm bread. When Terry walked in it was like a warm blanket and a hug from Lisa, the familiarity of it all. He had managed to get out of work at the correct time (5 pm) instead of when he usually left (7 to 9 pm); he didn't even look too tired as he hung up his coat by the door and let his messenger bag rest on the little stool meant for their purses. Terry stopped and opened the bag up, grabbing a package for Lisa out of it.
He took a moment to stop and feed Anthony Goldfish, take off his tie, and then switch his house with house slippers.
"Lisa?" he called, looking for the redhead in the hallway, her room, and finally the kitchen- which was where he probably should have looked to begin with. "Lisa," he said. From behind his back he pulled the package- a small bouquet of yellow roses, charmed to have a sweet, golden glow to the petals.
"Good news, right?" he asked, his Irish accent still as heavy as the day they'd met on the train and she'd taken him into her heart and life at the age of eleven. He handed her the flowers, kissed her cheek, and stole a bite of the red sauce Lisa was simmering for the spaghetti dinner. "Want me to grab some wine?" he asked.
