Neville could sense how worried she was. The concern soaked through each syllable she spoke. He didn't doubt that she cared for him and that she wanted him, but he also realized that she was uncertain. More than anything, Neville wanted to make sure she was positive that when they did move their relationship to the next level that it would be at a moment when they were both sure. Now was not that moment.
When she pressed her face to his shoulder, Neville wrapped his arms around her. "It's okay," he told her, turning his head to kiss the side of hers. He wasn't going to push her or urge her to fall into a moment with him that she couldn't undo. If they weren't both ready, then that was all that he needed to know.
"How about a cuddle instead?" he offered, impressed by his own ability to pretend that his body wasn't desperately aching for more than a cuddle.
