Byron's smile eased an unconscious anxiety he hadn't been aware was lurking. If Andrew had had to defend his relationship with Evan, he would have, family connection or not, but he was glad he didn't have to. "We're living outside the socially invented bounds of heteronormativity," he said, having to cast back for the words, and fairly sure he'd got them wrong anyway. "He's great. He's really helping with -" Andrew waved a hand around to indicate 'all of this'. In a way, it was almost easier to talk to Byron on the understanding he wouldn't talk back. He couldn't tell Andrew he was wrong, or being embarrassing. "Toby, too," Andrew added, remembering yet another thing connecting them.
Andrew chuckled as Byron attempted to mime... something. It reminded him of charades, which he'd always been good at. (Not so much the guessing, but the performing he'd certainly enjoyed.) "Me?" he interpreted. "Yeah, I love it. I dressed up as Jack Skellington for Halloween one year, that's how Elise and I got talking about it." He gestured to the poster, where Jack was framed prominently. "Do you like Halloween?"
