"Thank you," Higgs offered when Lydia said that she wished there was something that could help instantly. Higgs did, too, but like Lydia, he was aware that there just wasn't. Accepting that, really, was the first step towards getting better, he knew that now. It hadn't been an easy or even a quick realisation, but it certainly had been a necessary one. "It helps to have friends as good as you," Higgs added with a small smirk, though really, he wasn't joking at all. Having people like Pippa and Lydia in his life, alongside his other friends, had been exceptionally helpful in reorganising everything Higgs knew about himself and life in general.
At the offer for something stronger, Higgs shook his head. The water and chocolate had helped plenty. "I'm okay," he assured her mostly meaning it, too. "I'm sorry for--" there Higgs shrugged because he was sorry for disturbing Lydia's evening but he also recognised that she was unlikely to be annoyed at him for it. As for how everything else was, Higgs gave a shrug. "Going through a divorce," he offered since, really, that was one of the only truly eventful things happening to Higgs currently.
