Higgs smirked slightly when Caitlin informed him that she liked chatting and that helped with her job. Yes, he could, despite having known her for a very short period of time, tell that she liked chatting. It was quite nice. It reminded Higgs of the way Lydia rambled on when she talked about something she felt passionate about, or, alternatively, when she felt awkward. Caitlin, it seemed, had a similar attitude towards talking. "What other kind of jobs are there out there that involve people and numbers?" Higgs asked genuinely quite interested since those were not the sort of jobs he'd ever look at. For one, Higgs was rather terrible with maths.
"I was a soldier," Higgs replied. It was still odd to say was when referring to his days in the army. At this point it was more than ten months, and more technically over a year, since he'd left and Higgs still very much felt like a soldier. More so than he felt like a hitwizard, but Higgs suspected that would always be the case.
