"Right, less naked. Sounds good. Kettle. Join me. Yes, yes to all of that," Caitlin said, stammering most of it out ridiculous which only served to make her blush and even more deep shade of red. As she turned to head for the kitchen and the kettle, she wished that the floor would just suck her up entirely. It didn't. By the time he entered the kitchen, she was just getting the kettle onto the stove and the heat in her cheeks had subsided a little.
His mention of a background check wasn't all that surprising. Gladys was his grandmother and she couldn't blame him for being a little worried about her taking in a tenant. She would have likely felt the same way if she was in his position. "I like numbers," she explained at his question. "Figured that banking was a good choice. I could do accounting as well, I suppose. I may branch off into that at some point." She shrugged at the thought. "There's plenty of time to decide."
