As promised, I've looked into social work for you. From what I gather, it is a very small department under the DMLE, with only a handful of people currently working there (but they are recruiting!). It was first set up just after the war, so it hasn't been going for very long. They seem to mostly deal with things like checking up on kids in orphanages and doing home visits with the elderly. I assume the rest is rather case to case based.
The lady running it informed me that training is, in fact, done on the job and would take about 6 months of mentoring before one becomes a qualified, independent social worker. She said that if you are interested in finding out more you can contact her at the DMLE (her name's Marissa and she seemed really quite nice).
Unrelated to this, I know it's your sister's birthday on Saturday, do you have plans for it? If not, I'd like to take Daphne to see a play. You're welcome to come, too, if you'd like (it's Pride and Prejudice, don't tell her, though, it's meant to be a surprise not sure why but nonetheless a surprise).
