Who: Gladys Talbot and Nikolai Krum.
What: Just a conversation, really.
Where: Glad Tidings, Barmouth.
When: Thursday 22nd September, after work.
Gladys had given Nikolai both her street and her floo address - but she rather expected him to arrive by floo, which was why she had moved Dennis's cage out of the living room (which contained the floo fire) and into her study. She didn't really expect Dennis to have an adverse reaction to her guest, but she couldn't be sure and she was too good a hostess to risk greeting a stranger with a shrieking bird.
There was, of course, tea. Gladys had dithered over whether to serve it in the kitchen or the living room before finally settling on the latter. It would mean cake crumbs on her nice yellow couch, but what was magic for if not to clear up such things? There was also cake, which Gladys had almost sent over in response to Nikolai's journal entry, before decided it made much more sense to just serve it to him when he arrived.
She was fluffing the cushions when she heard the floo flare into life, spitting a handsome young man out into her living room. "Nikolai?" she asked, as if there was any chance he was a random stranger who happened to miss his correct floo stop. "Welcome. I hope you've had a good day?"
