Smiling, Cedric pronounced it properly for her. "You learn a few things when you live out there," he explained. He shrugged slightly at her question about the wine - not knowing what her taste or alcohol tolerances were. "We'll order two glasses, and if you don't like it, I'll drink yours and we can get you something else." Cedric might not be the athlete he once was, but he was still tall, and two glasses of wine weren't going to intoxicate him beyond what he was comfortable with. Especially since Cathy was with Jun for the night and Cedric didn't have to worry about being on call.
"I do," Cedric admitted. "I never thought I'd be finished with it so young." He sometimes felt like he'd barely got to experience the life of a curse-breaker that he'd wanted for any time at all before Jun told him the news. He didn't regret it, because Cathy was wonderful, but he wasn't completely happy with his job, either. Maybe when she was older, he could... well, he wasn't sure what exactly he could do to make up for the time lost. Take lots of holidays? Working part-time didn't exactly provide for that. "I like surprises," Cedric assured her. "What's the one that's not a surprise?"
