The UK did have plenty of attractions to Higgs that wasn't his job. Really, if it hadn't, he probably would've... well, Higgs wasn't sure what. The idea of reenlisting still played on his mind. He knew he couldn't. Not now. But it was hard to convince himself that that meant 'never'. "I don't know," he said instead, smirking as he did so. "I find a lot of it's more a nuisance than an attraction," he told Ashleigh but it was easy to tell from the tone of his voice that Higgs didn't mean that. He loved being closer to his family and to Marcus and Pippa who might as well have been family. Higgs also liked that he got to go out for lunch with Ashleigh at random Muggle food places and not eat anything they sold.
Ashleigh's begrudging agreement agreement to attend the quidditch match with Higgs made him laugh. "You can leave if it runs over whatever you deem a reasonable time frame," he assured her with amusement. "But I have it on good authority that the game will be very exciting," he added with a smile. Gemma had, after all, promised Higgs entertainment. Not that he had ever doubted it. "And maybe this time I'll bring us lunch," he promised before lifting his coffee cup in a small toast.
