Ashleigh opened her mouth to say that of course Axel would know she liked interior design, then stopped. Maybe he didn't. He'd been to her flat, helped her tile her kitchen, been present at Aisling's birthdays where Ashleigh's presents were almost always furniture, but perhaps he just... hadn't noticed. The thought made Ashleigh feel a little uncomfortable, and she pushed what was left of her salad away. "Do you want to leave?" she asked. Higgs had said no one wanted to work at the Ministry forever, which presumably included himself. Alicia had left too, and Ashleigh had to wonder if the Hit Wizards department was very badly run for so many people to want out.
It really wasn't a very flattering thing to say, and Ashleigh pursed her lips, but she didn't object. Higgs was right. She didn't take risks, if she could help it, and trying to start her own business would be a risk. It might not work, and then where would she be? She shrugged. "When things are settled. When everything's settled." Which Ashleigh knew was impossible. There would always be something, some reason not to do it. Perhaps Higgs was right and she would never leave. That thought was even more depressing. So Ashleigh pushed it away, found other things to think about. "Are you looking forward to quidditch starting again?" she asked. "Asher can hardly stop talking about it."
