Ashleigh smiled, momentarily distracted while she watched Terence eat. It was nice that someone appreciated her cooking. Neither she nor Alicia were in a position to give the food the appreciation it deserved. "If you flatter me too much, I'll start sending you packages whenever we can't eat it all." Which was most of the time. Ashleigh packed leftovers up for lunch, for both of them, but she was convinced that they were thrown away more often than not - by herself and by Alicia. For Ashleigh, forcing herself to eat when there was no audience just didn't seem worth the effort and she didn't trust Alicia to look after herself at all just now.
"Of course you did," Ashleigh said. Because a talking bird wasn't ridiculous enough, it must also be taught to say 'poop'. She shook her head. "Still better than a dog, though," she remarked. She had plans to take Alicia to play with Quake's dogs later in the week - which she really wasn't looking forward to. She really did hope that Alicia would take the lead, because that was perhaps the one thing Ashleigh couldn't convincingly fake. "How's work?" she asked, curious - mostly - about what, if anything, Higgs had heard about Alicia's drunken brawl.
