As they settled down in the place Ashleigh had picked, Higgs grinned when she presented him with pots of food and cutlery. "You've come prepared," he commented but there wasn't much of a surprise in the fact. Ashleigh always came prepared, Higgs had no doubt. "Coffee will be great," he noted helping himself to a cupful of the hot liquid, before reaching for the salmon, which Higgs had no issue with. He did suspect that even if Ashleigh had made something he didn't particularly like, he'd eat it anyway, because that was the polite thing to do. Luckily, though, Higgs really didn't have to pretend to find the food nice.
"Of course you would know why people say sea air is good for you," he teased her with amusement. Higgs honestly had never given much of a thought as to why people said that, but it did make sense, he thought. Still, there had to be more benefits to sea air than just... not being dirty. "My nan does not have a dog," Higgs said taking a sip of his coffee. "She does, however, have a parrot," he added with slight amusement. Higgs was well aware of how much Ashleigh didn't understand pet ownership. Dogs and cats, at least, were rather common. Parrots, whilst also probably common, weren't as common. "His name's Dennis and he can talk," Higgs informed Ashleigh seriously, only a small smirk playing on his lips as he imagined what Ashleigh might make of a talking bird.
